Kountermove's Fantasy MMA Scoring

1) Official stats - After a match, FightMetric scores Significant Strikes Landed, Takedowns/Reversals, Submission Attempts, Knockdowns, Dominant Positions, and Rounds Won, we then convert this statistical performance into points that are compiled and totaled according to the roster of fighters that makes up your fantasy team. Here is a sample scoring outcome from Cain Velasquez from UFC 166:

2) Fantasy Scoring Kountermove determines a fighter’s fantasy score as follows:

  Offensive Performance
First Round Win (by knockout, submission, DQ, or other)
100 points
Second Round Win (by knockout, submission, DQ, or other)
75 points
Third Round Win (by knockout, submission, DQ, or other)
50 points
Rounds won (win-by-decision fights only, two out of three judges required)
10 points each
Significant Strikes Landed
.5 points each
Takedowns / Reversals
2 points each
Submission Attempts
3 points each
3 points each
Dominant Positions
2 points each

*  A "No Contest" results in both fighters receiving no win/decision bonus.

*  Significant Strikes are punches or strikes that land and are considered "Power Strikes" by our official scoring providers.

*  Round points are scored based on the totality of the judges' scores rather than individual rounds.

* All tournament fights will count towards a fighters score.

Once the card begins and your picks have fought, you can hover over a fighters name to see the total points scored in their bout.

Like other fantasy sites, Kountermove awards zero points to players who draft a fighter who scratches or an entire fight that scratches because of injury, illness, or any other reasons. Decisions and points are final in the cage - scoring is based only on the final call, during the event, in the cage.

3) Prize Pool Distribution & Winnings - The overall prize pool is pre-determined for each game. The prize pool amount is noted on the homepage where you select a game to play. Just hover your cursor over the prize pool amount on the homepage or bottom left draft page to see how the prize pool is dispersed. In the event of a tie, the prize for that place is divided evenly between the tied players.

Qualifier Rules

  1. A qualifier is a contest where the top winners earn a TICKET to a larger event.
  2. Tickets may NOT be exchanged for cash.
  3. At the close of each qualifiying event, Kountermove will manually enter all ticket winners into the qualifiying event and send winners a link to the qualifying game (the game will also be listed in the KM game lobby).
  4. Players will be notified via email when they can set their lineups for the qualifying event.
  5. If a player does not set their team before the qualifying event start time, their team will earn 0 points.
  6. If a tie occurs, a head to head match will be set up during the following event for the teams that tied. The match will be of the same sport and organization. Kountermove will contact each player with the details of the match and date it will take place.
